Understanding the Chinese Water Personality

Ancient Chinese astrology is based on the five elements of water, metal, earth, wood and fire. The day and time of an individual’s birth indicates which element, or personality type that person has.

The Chinese Water Personality is said to be to be smart and resourceful. Like the water, these people take the shape of any situation that they are placed in. The Chinese water personality is especially flexible.

According to Chinese astrology, there are two types of water personalities. There are floating water personalities and still water personalities. Though both types of personalities are likened to the state of water, they are distinct from one another.

Floating water personalities are said to be active, restless, and this type of water personality likes to travel. But a still water personality is calm and peaceful.

Water is an important element in personality and character makeup in terms of Chinese astrology. If a person likes water in their personality, they are thought to be unstable, cowardly, and narrow-minded. People without water in their personality category are also thought to lack stamina.

Chinese astrology draws upon the positive aspects of a water personality but also highlights how excess water can be negative. People with excess water are thought to be tricky and plot dark schemes.

These people tend to move around frequently, often dream too much, and continuously change their mind. It’s almost as if one would not trust or rely upon a person with excess water in his or her personality.

The significance of water to world cultures is evidenced in various astrological theories and ideas. Some people may not fully believe in the Chinese Water Personality, while others follow the guidelines strictly.

Chinese astrologers and those interested in this discipline are fundamentally interested in the connection between humanity and nature at large.

Regardless of how one may feel about these personality categories, the five element model was a large part of understanding groups of people and how they may be similar.
